Dominican Republic – Days 2, 3, 4, and 5

Due to computer troubles, we have not been able to post the last few days. We would like to apoligize to those who are following this. Hopefully we can get back on track today.

It has been a very busy past couple of days. Thursday we split up to travel to different cities for services. Friday, our day off, we had two eye-opening devotionals, then traveled to the beach. Saturday, we started the day with the market and sightseeing. But I can honestly say, Saturday night was everyone’s favorite so far. We had a Pentecost Crusade, an astounding 30 people received the Holy Ghost for the first time. It had such a presence of God that it was difficult to leave.

We would like to give a big thanks to everyone who took part in the services. There were multiple teams of YOMers that contributed to the service in various ways. The puppet team consisted of Ireland Summers, Mary Wright, Abriah Johnson, Jessamy Fergie, and our speakers Raylyn White and Sydney Houser. On team two; a big thanks to our balloon ninjas, the puppeters (Anna Drebes, Alisa Brown, Jori Rinderer, and Lydi Hern), and last but not least, our speakers (Natalie Berry and Hannah Reeter).

In the evening, all of our speakers did a phenomonal job bringing the word. On team one the had the Breedlove tag-team (Jerica and Joel Breedlove). On team two, we had Section Two representing with Jessica Miller and Garrett Wright. Also on team two, Katie Sylvia (singing) and Dakota Jones (drums) surprised us all when they played on the praise team during alter call.

I believe everyone can say, the natives have a love like none other. All day, every person we came across showed us undeniable love and joy. It was an amazing thing to see. We can all strive to love like them.

A big thank you to the people of the island who were amazing hosts to us all day. The resturant owner who fed us, the natives who preformed for us while we ate, and the men who drove the boats from island to island. They day wouldn’t have been the same without any of them.

We started the day out with the Market Place. We all had our hand at barganing (American Pickers has nothing on us). Everyone is excited to come home and show off what we bought and how much we saved. Next, we all traveled to Christopher Columbus’ home. It was absolutly surreal! We got to walk where he walked, stand where he stood, die of heat stroke where he wasn’t fazed.

Our devotional speakers (Andi Drebes and Andrew Harvey) did an amazing job gearing our minds and hearts toward Him. We can all strive to have joy in our lives, and to not let our fears get in the way of doing what God has called us to do.

Saturday night was a Heaven to Earth moment. The Pentacost Crusade was a success with an amazing 30 recieveing the gift of the Holy Ghost! The Spirit of God had such an amazing hold on the church. We all left changed. None of us can come back the same after such a touch of God.

Today was an amazing day! From traveling this morning to the service tonight. The service itself was eye opening. Thank you to Blake Stock, Anna Drebes, and Dakota Jones for bringing the word at tonight’s service. They all did a phenomenal job preaching tonight. Everybody left with a word from God.
